'As I sleep, my mind will erase everything I did today. I will wake up tomorrow as I did this morning, thinking I'm still a child. Thinking I have a whole lifetime of choice ahead of me...'

Memories define us. So what if you lost yours every time you went to sleep? Your name, identity, your past, even the people you love- all forgotten overnight. And the one person you trust may only be telling you half the story.

Welcome to Christine's life.

Is it bad that I initially wanted to read this book because I saw the film being advertised starring Colin Firth? Well, I can tell you I have managed to read the book before planning on seeing the film- I can be quite particular about that sometimes!

Alas, let me tell you this is a book that really opens up your eyes to how vulnerable people can be. I'm not wanting to give this book a daunting image but its not the happiest book I've read, but that'd not to mean its a rubbish book because it is by far a great read!

Narrated by Christine, she tells her story of how she lost her memory and her journey of bringing back memories of life changing experiences. Throughout this journey as you find out more and more about Christine and her husband Ben who isn't what he seems as she finds out from a note in her journal to not trust him.

With the help of Dr Nash, Christine makes a shocking discovery as to how she lost her memory that left me in such surprise and horror. It kept me guessing throughout and it reminded me of a similar style that Gillian Flynn used in her bestselling novel Gone Girl, I simply couldn't put this book down.

This book is full of twist and turns and just utter brilliance, S J Watson has made a great job of presenting a situation that must be truly terrifying for anyone and giving it a great plot twist that I was definitely not anticipating!

Its so hard for me not to give away any spoilers but this book is a really brilliant read, it gives insight into mental illness in a case of memory loss and the consequences this has of putting your trust into someone. It points out the vulnerability that these victim's have in their day-to-day lives, if anything its rather upsetting.

Alas, this is by no means a depressing or a boring book, no its fast paced and keeps you guessing until the very end- brilliant read!
