Today's the day! The Bout of Books read-a-thon has started! This post will be a "masterpost", which means all of my updates for this read-a-thon will ALL be on THIS post! That way it will be easier for all of you taking part to check out how I'm getting on!
My goals for this read-a-thon:
- Finish A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
- Start/Finish The Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger
- Start/Finish Nora Webster by Colm Toibin
- Start Trust in Me by Sophie McKenzie
- Start The Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens
I know these are ambitious for me, I'm not a fast reader like a lot of book bloggers I know- but I'll try my hardest and we all need a challenge! I know The Pickwick Papers is a huge read so to even begin this novel will be a great start, I've wanted to read his works for so long :-)
Updates:
11th May- Not off to the best of starts! I spent the majority of the morning doing things around the house and the much needed food shopping. However, I did finish A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas and to make it even better she favourited my tweet- yay! Secondly I have started The Pickwick Papers and The Catcher in the Rye, there's no question as to which one I'll get through quicker haha!
12th May- Today I managed to get half way through The Catcher in the Rye and my gosh I am so in love with this book! Before I called it a night, I started another book I hadn't planned to read in this read-a-thon, Normal by Graeme Cameron. It's a crime thriller, so I'm dealing with a messed up character- but so far it's not bad!
13th May- GUYS! I finished The Catcher in the Rye- my gosh why had I not read it previously? Just a heads up, my review will be up soon and it's a long one.I have so much to say, it's actually become my favourite book!
14th May- Today wasn't a good start to my read-a-thon, I had a headache all day and wasn't really myself. I read a little bit of Normal by Graeme Cameron, otherwise I didn't. Fingers crossed tomorrow will be a better day for reading!
As my first read-a-thon I didn't do so well everyone! I'm happy to have read at least one book and finished another, so I could have done a lot worse! The last few days of the read-a-thon weren't so good, I had work and found little time to do much reading but I am nearly halfway through Normal. I feel like I don't know what to read at the moment, feels like a bit of a reading slump. The mood reader inside of me has struck- fingers crossed future read-a-thon's will be a lot more successful.
I hope you guys had fun with the read-a-thon, I know I did for the time that I did take part in :-)
TELL ME IN THE COMMENTS HOW YOU GOT ON DURING THIS READ-A-THON, I'D LOVE TO GET TALKING TO YOU ALL :-)
