So here we are, the end of May and what a great month it's been for books! I even took part in my first read-a-thon 'Bout of Books' and a UK YA Chat on Twitter- all good fun and I can't wait to join in with more.
Now we're halfway through the year (that's crazy!) I have my holiday to look forward to on the 25th so plenty of holiday shopping and excitement going on! I also have rather a lot of books I wish to read but you know me I tend to change my mind last minute, anyway before I get ahead of myself let's check out what books I managed to read in May! :-)
I managed to read six books this month, pretty impressed with myself. It helped that I enjoyed them all too! Disappointingly I can't display my wonderful books as a couple are on my kindle and a paperback copy I had to give back to my friend but hey ho, here they are:
I want to note that all of these books were brilliant! They're all 3-5 star ratings and I loved how much diversity of genre's I have here, I think it's great to try out new books even if they're not normally but you prefer to read. So I urge you to give these books a go!

That's a LOT of books! Confession, I've been slowly buying the new editions of Harry Potter because they're such gorgeous covers! My older editions are going to be safely tucked away as they're getting worn and I want to keep them in the best condition I can- does anybody else do this?!
Belle by Lesley Pearse, my lovely friend Sarah sent to me as I'm keen to try out Lesley's books- my Nan is a big fan so I'm slow to the party with this author (no change there then!).
Us by David Nicholls I've been itching to get for a while now, I'm not such a fan of hardbacks (picky I know) so I waited for the paperback edition to be released and even better I got it from work so discount-yays!
The Martian by Andy Weir a popular book I've heard much about, my brother's girlfriend Vicky gave me to read. I'm sure it's to do with life on Mars, so hopefully a good sci-fi book I can get into!
Then finally hiding at the top is another cute Little Black Classic, The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx- very intrigued to read this one especially.
So a beautiful amount of books to be read at some point, definitely hoping to read at least three of these very soon so look out for my reviews on my Goodreads!
Now you know me, I'm not a big fan of setting in stone what I'm going to read each month, so here are the books I hope to read this month- the outcome could be different though haha!
You'll be pleased to know I've almost finished Church of Marvels and it's a great book I have to say, different to what I've ever read before and it's so wonderfully written!
I've also cheekily started A Man Called Ove, this book has been haunting me for a while now and I just need to see what all the hype is about!
Fingers crossed I stick to this selection, they all vary in genres so I'm hoping June will be a successful time for reading as well as other goings on! I'm looking forward to my holiday towards the end of the month, my Kindle is full of books ready to be read so my week away in the sun will be a great opportunity to have a summer read-a-thon of my very own!
I hope May was a happy month for you all and I hope June brings great things to you all! Thank you once again for sticking around and reading my blog, there's nothing I love more than to see you all commenting and having discussions with me. When I wake up to new notifications it still makes me excited to read them all and respond, I can't thank you enough for being such wonderful readers.
