Hello everyone! I hope you're all well, I've been bogged down doing my assignment today and I'm well and truly drained so I decided to cheer myself up and to the Christmas tag that I found on Emmie's blog so go check her's out too...
1. What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
It would have to be spending time with my family, it's the one time in the year when we're all together and it's such a happy time. I love the build up of it all; Christmas songs, films, wrapping presents, and of course the mighty Christmas dinner with all the trimmings- yum!
2. What is your favourite Christmas Film?
For me it's got to be The Santa Clause starring Tim Allen, when I've watched it then I know it's Christmas. Such a heart warming film and I definitely cry every time I watch it, its a film I would love to be in myself!
3. Real or fake tree?
Real tree of course, a couple of times we've had a fake tree but there's nothing that can beat the smell of a real Christmas tree- the feel of the branches and just its presence.
Yeah that's my cat Ziggy clinging to the tree!
4. Giving presents or receiving them?
If I was the perfect person I would say giving, but that would be lying. I like both! Giving someone a present is great because you're so excited to see their reactions when they open it up and receiving them because sometimes you never know what you might get!
5. Do you open your presents Christmas morning or in the evening?
Morning! Pretty much as soon as we're awake, we make a cup of tea and put some music on and open our presents together one by one. Then when other family come round later we do it after we've had Christmas dinner.
6. What tops your tree?
We alternate it, one year it's an angel and the other it will be a star.
7. As a kid what was the one gift you always asked for but never received?
The most childish thing- a Barbie animal hospital set. It had the trailer, horses, vet surgery- everything! Never got it sadly, but I used to always get a Barbie annual from my Dad's friend Marge, lovely lady.
8. Handmade Christmas cards or bought?
If it's someone special I like to make my Christmas cards but sometimes bought one's are lovely- particularly when they have penguins on them!
9. What's your favourite Christmas food?
I would say the obvious one, pigs in blankets but I'm going to say Christmas pudding! The taste is just sensational and rich, love it.
10. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
On Christmas Eve it pretty much consists of watching Christmas films, having a drink and making sausage rolls and mince pies with my Mum. When I was younger I used to go to church for a Christingle service, really enjoyable with the carols and singing by candlelight.
I tag anyone who wants to share some of their favourites at Christmas! Do you have anything unusual planned this year? Are there traditions you simply will never break? Tell me in the comments I'd love to know what you all get up to!
