Good morning everyone! Today I wanted to share with you my new favourite thing to have for breakfast- the Blueberry Muffin. Nope not an actual muffin but in smoothie form, and I can't tell you how delicious it is!
Recently I've felt that I've been eating far too much junk and fatty foods that I've decided to introduce more of the good foods into my diet- and about time too! The tricky thing with me is, is that I enjoy food a lot and I could quite happily munch on a bacon sandwich every day but as my jeans feel tighter I've realised it won't do me any harm in cutting down on them luxuries.
Summer is coming and having something like this smoothie to cool you off is pretty much perfect. You might be thinking that there's no way that a smoothie will fill you up, but I can honestly tell you that this one certainly does...
Ingredients
- 1 cup of Blueberries
- Half a cup of Oats
- 1 cup of Almond Milk
- 1 tsp of Vanilla (extract)
- 1 tsp of Ground Cinnamon
Method
The method is pretty simple, add all of the ingredients together and whizz them up in a food blender (preferably one with a jug like container so it's easy to pour into a cup) and tah-dah- you have your smoothie!
The oats are high in fiber, help to fill you up and make the texture of the smoothie thicker, the blueberries aid in reducing belly fat (yay!), and the almond milk is great for digestion, high in healthy fats and keeps your digestion in check! Then well the cinnamon is supposedly good for kicking your brain into action and the vanilla extract well who doesn't like a bit of vanilla?
I'm no health expert and I'll never claim to be but after finishing this smoothie I feel full up and energised to get on with my last couple of assignments, so I can't complain!
