Paperback 288 pages ~The Book Depository~

Part two of the 'Divergent' trilogy. Instead of Tris celebrating her initiation day, it ended with shocking indescribable terror. War is now looming over the factions and their ideologies grow. Sides must be chosen like any war, secrets will unfold and difficult choices are to be made. Tris must finally accept her Divergence, even if it means she may lose people along the way...

Sadly, I didn't enjoy Insurgent as much as Divergent. I think the reason for this was due to the fact there was a lot of running back and forth between the factions Erudite, Abnegation and Dauntless. It seemed to me this book was a filler in between all the drama that is about to erupt.

Despite its slow start the last half of the book was crucial to pay attention to.

I think another reason for why I didn't get into this book as much as I did with Divergent from Tris making very brash decisions. Ultimately she does because she wants to keep the ones she loves safe, but for me I feel like she could have been more sensible by not lying.

With Insurgent, not much action happens until the very end of the book for a huge bombshell that makes you leap off your chair and rush to get the third and final book Allegiant off your bookshelf..at least that's what I did!

I gave it a 3 star rating based on the fact that it essentially holds important information as to why the factions exist and what is beyond the fence surrounding them.
